Interviewing at Jama: What to Expect

Every company has its own interviewing process and its particular style with which it engages job candidates. At Jama, we like to keep our prospective employees informed about what to expect when invited to our face-to-face interviews. Our goal is for you to have an authentic experience for what life is like at Jama and an engaging conversation about you, the role and the company. This article will help you prepare for what’s ahead.

I’m invited! What’s next?

Congratulations! At this point you’ve interviewed with one of our Talent Partners, you’ve spoken with a Hiring Manager, and received an invitation to interview with a larger team face-to-face.

If you are applying for one of our remote roles or are currently located outside of the Portland metro area, you will likely be invited to interview via an online video conference. In this first meeting with the team you can expect to meet multiple Jamanians who will have direct interest in the role you’re considering at Jama.  

Are you technical?

If you are interviewing for one of our technical openings, you can expect to meet with a couple of individuals, who will seek to understand and assess your technical ability. You will also talk to a few Jamanians from the team so you have a chance to ask them questions about Jama and so they can get to know you better.

Tell us about yourself

If you applied for a Sales, Marketing or Consultant role, you may be asked to give a live presentation. During the presentation, you will be encouraged to discuss things such as your work experience or showcase your personality and cultural fit. You will have a solid chunk of time and can use any type of technology that will best deliver your points. We’ll provide everything we can to set you up for success.

A closing tip

We want every candidate to be ready to ask questions about Jama and specific role requirements. Questions during this interview will give you a chance to understand the day-to-day responsibilities of the role, learn more about the team and culture, or our ideal fit.
